Frequently Asked Questions
How do I have a clock built?
First, contact me via email at: msclock@sprynet.com with details of what you are looking for. We will discuss the type of clock you are interested in, choose the type of wood, the style and the features. I will give you a rough estimate of the cost and details of the payment terms. After your deposit is received, drawings will then be prepared and submitted to you for approval or alterations. Then actual construction begins. This can include restoration of family photos, woodcarving, engraving, whatever you like.  Next the clock is built to old world standards using traditional joinery and materials. A hand rubbed finish is applied. The clock then goes through testing to make sure that it performs properly. Then the finished clock is delivered to your home or office and set up. You are instructed in its proper care, winding of the movement, use of the features, etc.

What does a custom clock cost?
Since each Family Heritage Clock is built to suit the history and taste of its owner, the cost is based on type of wood, type of clock movement, features, etc. and will be quoted up front. Because delivery and initial set-up are provided, cost is also based upon delivery location.  Prices for a Family Heritage Wall clock begin at $1,500. A Family Heritage Tall Case clock begins at $10,000. Specialty tall case clocks begin at $12,500.

How long will it take to build my clock?
This of course depends on the scale of the project, number of features, etc. Expect 4 months or more for a wall clock and 6 to 12 months for a tall case clock. Elaborate clocks may take longer.
